NANGERE, YOBE STATE – Tuesday, 30 June 2026 — A new political conversation is gradually taking shape across Nangere Local Government Area as Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Dazigau formally declares his intention to contest for the seat of Member, Yobe State House of Assembly, representing Nangere Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His declaration has generated widespread discussions among community leaders, youths, women, professionals, farmers, traders, and other stakeholders who are increasingly calling for a new direction in leadership.
Running on the campaign slogan "WE NEED CHANGE IN NANGERE," Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Dazigau says his aspiration is inspired by a sincere desire to offer quality representation, responsive leadership, and practical legislative solutions that will directly improve the lives of the people.
According to him, the role of a legislator extends beyond sponsoring motions and attending parliamentary sittings. He believes the office should serve as a bridge between government and the people by ensuring that the needs, challenges, and aspirations of constituents are properly represented and translated into meaningful development.
In his address to supporters, Dazigau stressed that Nangere possesses enormous human and natural resources capable of transforming the constituency into one of the fastest-growing areas in Yobe State if given visionary and accountable leadership.
"The future of Nangere belongs to all of us. Our youths deserve opportunities, our women deserve empowerment, our farmers deserve government support, our schools deserve improvement, and our communities deserve better infrastructure. I am offering myself to serve because I believe together we can achieve this vision," he said.
Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Dazigau is widely regarded as a calm, accessible, and development-oriented young leader who has maintained close relationships with people at the grassroots. Many residents describe him as someone who understands the daily realities facing ordinary citizens because of his regular interaction with communities across the constituency.
His political ambition also carries the legacy of public service established by his father, Alhaji Adamu Dazigau, the respected former Member of the Yobe State House of Assembly who represented Nangere Constituency with distinction. Throughout his years in public office, the elder statesman earned the admiration of many residents for his honesty, humility, fairness, and commitment to community development.
Political observers note that while Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Dazigau draws inspiration from his father's record, he is presenting himself as a leader with fresh ideas, modern perspectives, and innovative solutions capable of addressing today's governance challenges.
One of the major pillars of his campaign is education. According to Dazigau, no society can attain sustainable development without investing heavily in education. He has pledged to support policies that will improve learning environments, encourage scholarship opportunities, strengthen vocational education, and promote digital skills for young people.
Healthcare also occupies a prominent position in his development agenda. He believes many rural communities continue to experience inadequate access to quality healthcare services. He therefore promises to advocate for improved primary healthcare centres, increased availability of essential medicines, maternal healthcare programmes, and stronger collaboration with relevant agencies to improve healthcare delivery.
Recognising agriculture as the backbone of Nangere's economy, Hon. Dazigau has equally promised to champion policies that will empower farmers through easier access to improved seedlings, fertilizers, irrigation facilities, modern farming equipment, agricultural extension services, and favourable markets for agricultural produce.
Youth development remains another important aspect of his campaign. He noted that thousands of talented young people across Nangere possess the skills and determination to contribute meaningfully to society but lack opportunities. He pledged to support entrepreneurship programmes, vocational training, digital innovation, sports development, and job creation initiatives aimed at reducing unemployment and promoting economic self-reliance.
He further emphasized the importance of empowering women, describing them as indispensable partners in community development. According to him, greater investment in women's education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and leadership opportunities will significantly contribute to the social and economic advancement of the constituency.
Hon. Dazigau also expressed concern over the condition of roads, drainage systems, water supply, electricity, and other public infrastructure across several communities within Nangere. He assured constituents that if elected, he would work closely with relevant government agencies and development partners to facilitate projects capable of improving the living conditions of residents.
Transparency, accountability, and regular engagement with constituents form another key component of his legislative agenda. He promised to maintain an open-door policy where community leaders, youths, women, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and civil society organisations would have direct access to discuss issues affecting their communities.
