The newly elected Chairman of the United Marketers Association Potiskum (UMAPO), Umar Usman Jibrin, has pledged to work closely with patrons, the Board of Trustees, and members of the association to ensure its growth and development.

The inauguration ceremony took place at Potiskum Local Government Secretariat Town Hall on Sunday, 22nd March, 2026.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by committee members from the Yobe State Ministries of Youth and Social Development, Information, Justice, and Religious Affairs and Ethical Reorientation.

They include Alhaji Muhammad Gidado Abubakar, Alhaji Abdu Shu’aibu, Barrister Muhammad Sani Dawasa, as well as the Director of Youth Empowerment, Clubs and Associations, Ibrahim Garba Diso.

In a welcome address, Alhaji Muhammad Gidado Abubakar urged the newly inaugurated committee, patrons, and Board of Trustees to work diligently towards promoting business activities and contributing to the socio-economic development of Potiskum and Yobe State at large.

The association’s structure comprises Fiftey Grand Patrons, seven members of the Board of Trustees, and ten elected executive members.

Those elected include Umar Usman Jibrin as Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar as Secretary, Adamu Suleiman Duniya as Vice Chairman, and Haruna Idriss Na Faransa as Treasurer.

Others are Mohammed Ali Doctor as Welfare Secretary, Abdulmuminu Muhammad as Organising Secretary, Said Muhammad Ali as Financial Secretary, Yusuf Haruna Abba as Auditor, Alhaji Dahiru Isah as Assistant Secretary, and Ashiru Muhammad Inuwa as Public Relations Officer.

The event also featured the presentation of certificates to the newly inaugurated executive members and other officials.
