President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate deployment of security chiefs to Maiduguri and directed emergency responders to provide urgent medical care to victims following recent Boko Haram terror attacks in Borno State.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the president said the directive was part of a broader effort to stabilise the situation after coordinated attacks rocked parts of the state capital, leaving casualties and widespread concern among residents.

“Additionally, I have directed security chiefs to move to Maiduguri to take charge of the situation. I have also directed the emergency agencies to provide proper care for the injured,” Tinubu said.

The president expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives, extending condolences to bereaved families and sympathies to those injured.

He also reaffirmed the federal government’s solidarity with the people of Borno State amid renewed security challenges.

Tinubu described the attacks as “desperate and frantic attempts” by terrorist groups under sustained military pressure, insisting that such acts would not weaken Nigeria’s resolve in the fight against insurgency.

He commended the efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces and allied security agencies for repelling coordinated assaults on military positions, noting that their “courage and fighting spirit” had prevented further escalation.

The president disclosed that additional military equipment and operational support had recently been approved during a high-level security meeting, with implementation already underway to strengthen ongoing operations.

He reiterated the administration’s commitment to eliminating terrorist threats across the country, declaring that no part of Nigeria would serve as a safe haven for criminal elements.

“We will locate them, confront them, and completely defeat them,” he said, adding that Nigeria would not succumb to fear.

Security presence has since been reinforced in Maiduguri, while emergency services continue to attend to victims and assess the aftermath of the attacks. Authorities have urged residents to remain calm but vigilant as operations continue.
