In a significant show of grassroots leadership and commitment to community welfare, Kaigaman Potiskum and District Head of Ngojin, Hon. Yusuf Umar, has undertaken an extensive visitation tour across communities under Ngojin District, where he also launched the distribution of palliatives to support residents ahead of the forthcoming Sallah celebrations.

The high-profile visit attracted a large turnout of residents, traditional leaders, youth groups, and women across the district, all of whom gathered to receive the District Head and witness the distribution exercise. The atmosphere was marked by excitement and appreciation, as many described the intervention as timely, considering the prevailing economic challenges facing households.
Speaking during the occasion, Hon. Yusuf Umar, who also serves as the Commissioner for the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ethical Re-Orientation, reaffirmed his dedication to the welfare of his people. He stated that as both a government official and a traditional leader, he carries the responsibility of ensuring that his people are not left behind, especially during periods of economic hardship.

“As leaders, we must always remain close to our people and understand their needs. This is why I deemed it necessary to come personally and support our communities, particularly at a time when many families are preparing for Sallah under difficult economic conditions,” he said.
The palliatives distributed included cash assistance and essential food items, targeted at easing the burden on vulnerable members of the community. Beneficiaries included women, the elderly, youths, religious leaders, and other key stakeholders within the district.

The distribution process was conducted with the support of community leaders to ensure transparency and fairness. Many beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, noting that the gesture would go a long way in helping them meet their basic needs during the festive period.
Residents who spoke to our correspondent described Kaigaman Potiskum as a leader who has consistently demonstrated care and commitment to his people. They praised his humility and willingness to engage directly with the grassroots despite his busy schedule at the state level.

“This is a leader who truly understands the suffering of his people. He did not just send representatives; he came himself. We appreciate him and pray for his continued success,” one of the beneficiaries remarked.
Community leaders also used the opportunity to reaffirm their loyalty and support for the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni, noting that such initiatives reflect the government’s concern for the welfare of the people. They pledged to mobilize continued grassroots support for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the state.

The visit also served as a platform for interaction between the District Head and his people, as residents presented various challenges affecting their communities, including economic difficulties and infrastructural needs. Hon. Yusuf Umar assured them that their concerns would be communicated to the appropriate authorities for necessary attention.
Observers have described the exercise as a strong example of people-oriented leadership, noting that such direct engagement fosters unity, trust, and cooperation between leaders and the communities they serve.

As Sallah approaches, the intervention by Kaigaman Potiskum has brought relief and renewed hope to many families across Ngojin District, reinforcing the importance of compassionate leadership in times of need.
