Nangere/Potiskum Youths Urge Dr. Dauda Muhammad Atiyeyi to Contest for House of Representatives Seat
The Youths of Nangere and Potiskum Federal Constituency, under the leadership of Dr. Yunus Isma’il, Special Assistant on Information and Communication to the Executive Secretary, Science and Technical Schools Board, have formally called on Dr. Dauda Muhammad Atiyeyi (Dan Galadiman Fika and District Head of Jigawa) to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Nangere/Potiskum in the forthcoming elections.
In a statement released today, the youths described Dr. Atiyeyi as a credible, highly competent, and experienced leader whose exceptional track record and dedication to public service make him the most suitable candidate for the constituency.
They appealed to the Governor of Yobe State, Dr. Mai Mala Buni, and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, to support and encourage Dr. Atiyeyi to step forward for the service of the people, emphasizing that his leadership would ensure effective representation in the National Assembly.
The statement highlighted that Dr. Dauda Muhammad Atiyeyi hails from a distinguished family with a long-standing history of leadership and public service. He is the son of the late Alhaji Muhammadu Atiyeyi, former Sarkin Potiskum, and a veteran politician who contributed significantly to the political development of the region during the era of the old Borno State.
The youths underlined that Dr. Atiyeyi’s personal character mirrors the legacy of his father—marked by integrity, resilience, and a commitment to the welfare of the people. His modern education, coupled with solid Islamic scholarship, equips him to address contemporary leadership challenges while promoting ethical governance.
According to the youth forum, Dr. Atiyeyi’s emergence as a candidate would also promote unity across Nangere and Potiskum, effectively curbing the politics of ethnicity and sectionalism. They described him as a leader whose vision embraces every community, ensuring inclusive representation and equitable development.
The statement also noted Dr. Atiyeyi’s humility, respect for elders, commitment to accountability, and genuine concern for the needs of the people—qualities that make him widely respected among both youths and elders alike.
Furthermore, the group expressed confidence that his election to the House of Representatives would attract critical development projects, enhance youth empowerment initiatives, improve educational infrastructure, and address socio-economic challenges facing the constituency.
In conclusion, the Youths of Nangere and Potiskum called on all political stakeholders, community leaders, and citizens to unite in supporting Dr. Dauda Muhammad Atiyeyi. They reaffirmed their belief that his leadership will provide a stronger voice for the constituency at the national level, promote good governance, and usher in a new era of inclusive development.
