The Member representing Potiskum Central Constituency in the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmad Adamu Sarkin Adon Potiskum, has reaffirmed his commitment to the health and wellbeing of his constituents with the donation of essential drugs and medical supplies to Potiskum Specialist Hospital.
The intervention is part of the lawmaker’s sustained efforts to complement government initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery across Potiskum and its environs. The donated items include syringes, antibiotics, antimalarial drugs, vitamin supplements, intravenous fluids, medicated creams, cough syrups, and other critical consumables necessary for effective patient care and emergency response.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Ahmad Adamu emphasized that healthcare remains a fundamental pillar of human development and must be prioritized at all levels of governance. He noted that access to affordable and quality healthcare services is a basic right that requires continuous and deliberate investment.
He used the occasion to commend the Executive Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency Hon. Dr. Mai Mala Buni, CON, for what he described as transformative leadership in the health sector. According to him, the Buni administration has consistently placed the wellbeing of citizens at the center of its development agenda.
Hon. Ahmad Adamu highlighted key achievements of the current administration, including the construction and renovation of healthcare facilities, provision of modern medical equipment, recruitment and training of health personnel, and expanded access to essential services across both rural and urban communities.
He noted that these efforts have significantly improved healthcare infrastructure and service delivery, while also restoring public confidence in the state’s medical institutions.

The items were formally received by the Chief Medical Director of Potiskum Specialist Hospital, Dr. Ayuba Zakar, in the presence of key stakeholders, including representatives of the Emir of Fika, the Emir of Potiskum, the Director of Primary Health Care Potiskum, and community leaders.
In his remarks, Dr. Zakar expressed gratitude for the timely donation, noting that it would help address urgent medical needs, ease the burden on patients, and enhance the hospital’s capacity to deliver efficient healthcare services.
He commended Hon. Ahmad Adamu for his consistent support, describing him as a dependable partner in the advancement of healthcare in Potiskum.
